What you CAN try if your printer won't print right-

I say CAN because I doubt that it's Epson recommended and I can't recommend something that might have some adverse effect.

Many people, when refilling cartridges have had a problem with all the colors not printing after doing the filling process. I can't be sure, but I along with many others seem to think it's probably air in the cartridge.

The best way to solve this seems to be to let it sit for a couple hours (or more) before putting a filled cartridge into the printer.  This gives it time for the air to travel upward and not be causing problems.

If you try this and it doesn't work, then you can try doing print head cleanings (you'll likely need to do a few anyway). The number of cleanings necessary can vary widely from as little as one to many more than that!  Always remember to print a test page between print head cleanings so that you don't cause damage to the printer.

If doing about 5 or so doesn't do noticeable improvement, I would take them out, place tape on the open holes and somewhat gently shake the cartridges. I had read this before, and then read it again recently and it does seem to be a way of working some air bubbles up toward the top.

Remember to let them sit again for about an hourthis time, after shaking, you might be rid of the bigger air pockets, but shaking can also cause smaller bubblesso give them time to work up as well.

Again, try the test print.  Do any necessary cleaning processes and continue until you have good results if you have made progress.

Air seems to be the biggest "enemy" of a refiller's quest for saving money. If you don't feel you have the patience for this, you might want to consider a bulk ink supply system.  People rave about these systems. They run from $150-$250 on average. The unfortunate part is that there are many printers that do not have a compatible bulk inking system for them.

Please don't hesitate to email me with further questions or post questions to the Yahoo Groups board where we are all willing to chip in with tips and advice when possible.
